The lead network engineer position will be responsible for driving the technical execution and support for ISBS’s MNS Business. This person will participate in design of product offerings, delivery of services and provide escalation support. This role requires broad network engineering experience in design, implementation, and support of network infrastructures. The Network Engineer will have the opportunity to work on a wide array of networking and security technologies. Ongoing education is encouraged and this role is expected to be a vocal participant on the team. Long term, this role will build out a team to support the growth of the MNS business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in the growth plan for the MNS business
- Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot and manage network infrastructures for both ISBS and various customers
- Develop LAN networks and plan out Wi-Fi Access Points
- Configure, install, troubleshoot various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN), LAN, and WAN
- Identify, recommend and implement network system optimizations for various customers.
- Update data servers and network equipment
- Utilize monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, assess network performance, and trace data and protocol activity
- Participation in billable customer engagements
Job Requirements:
- One or more of the following certifications preferred:
- One or more of the DATTO Certified Deployment Specialist or Practitioner Certifications
- Cisco 200-301 CCNA certification
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with the following:
- Designing, implementing and supporting switches, routers, and firewalls
- Designing network and security architectures
- Strong understanding of the following:
- Analyzing networks with a lens for improving performance, security, and reliability
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols
- Network protocols and ports (TCP/IP, SSH, FTP, ICA, HTTPS, etc.)
- Gathering technical and business requirements
- Hands on experience with one or more of the following:DATTO, Cisco, Meraki, Ruckus, Ubiquiti
- Experience with design, implementation and troubleshooting of network and security services within Microsoft’s Cloud
- Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships and work with strategic customers and partners
